My name is Maria Murawska, and I am a Polish textile artist working primarily with hand embroidery.

My current body of work focuses on horses. I am interested in the moment when looking becomes something more than observation, and in how textile can transform an image into an experience that invites us to stay with it a little longer.

Horses became the subject of this exploration because they have a unique ability to command our attention while remaining impossible to fully grasp. Rather than trying to explain them, I create works that leave space for the viewer’s own experience.

Before dedicating myself to textile art, I studied architecture and later worked as both an architect and a 2D artist in the video game industry. Those experiences shaped the way I think about composition, structure and visual storytelling, while embroidery became the medium that allowed me to work with greater patience and intention.

Every artwork is created entirely by hand over many weeks and exists as a unique, one-of-a-kind piece.

My current collection marks the beginning of an ongoing exploration of horses through textile.
